Bass Jack Bolton holds a Bachelor of Music (Classical Voice Performance) from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University.

​

During his studies, performance highlights included roles in staged productions of Philip Glass’ Orphée (Judge), Iolanthe (Private Willis) and scenes from Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Snug). Jack won the Queensland Conservatorium’s Margaret Nickson Prize in 2021 alongside pianist Mai-Lien Olsson, and was a prize winner at the 2023 National Liederfest for the Lieder Society of Victoria.

In 2022 Jack joined Brisbane’s Voxalis Opera, performing the role of Masetto in scenes from Mozart’s Don Giovanni in the company’s season finale, A Celebration of Opera, followed in 2023 by the roles of Giorgio Talbot and Sir Gualtiero Raleigh in The Two Queens, a staging of scenes from Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda and Roberto Devereux.

 

​Jack was the recipient of the 2024 Margaret Schindler Vocal Scholarship with Southern Cross Soloists, one of Australia’s pre-eminent classical music ensembles, and a group in which has enriched him with chamber performance opportunities.

As a returning Melba Artist for 2025, he is the recipient of the John & Elizabeth Wright-Smith Scholarship and the Annie McFarling Opera Scholarship with Melba Opera Trust.
